Google has recently rolled out a new feature to the Google for My Business listings that show up in search results. I've been able to play with them a bit myself and thought I'd give my thoughts.
What are "Posts?"
Google's new "Posts" feature is an addition to the Google My Business listing service. Business owners are more commonly familiar with Google My Business strictly as a way to add your address to Google Maps and to monitor your Google reviews. The "post" is simply an image with a short text description and a call to action button. They last up to 7 days before expiring and deleting themselves from search results. The posting functionality is free to use as of now.
Why Does This Matter?
If your business is focused around branded searches, this feature could be very useful. I could see this as a great way to make existing customers familiar with other products or services that you provide, as well as upcoming sales. This addition could make Google My Business a place that business owners and marketers go to on a consistent basis.
